Early Phase Site
Within the structures we have an Early Phase Site, thanks to which we can provide:
- early phase clinical trials in all areas of medicine;
- monitoring of the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and bioequivalence of tested drugs;
- projects involving the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of medical devices.
The Early Phase Site among others is equipped with:
- Two medical examination rooms and a procedure room;
- Four patient rooms with a total of 8 stations, including: 4 outpatient stations, 2 adult inpatient stations, and 2 pediatric inpatient stations – All with beds that meet intensive care bed standards;
- A state-of-the-art centralized system for continuous monitoring of all vital functions of patients in the ward;
- A biological material processing room connected to the in-hospital laboratory via pneumatic mail.
- Medical equipment, including: CARDIOVIT AT-102 G2, Efficia DFM100 monitor/defibrillator, Philips Efficia CM12 cardiac monitor (2 units on the ward), infusion pumps for performing precise intravenous, epidural infusions, parenteral and enteral infusions (10 units on the ward), low-temperature freezers with temperature recording, monitoring and alarm notification system (2 refrigerators up to -86⁰ C and one up to -30⁰ C).
- Social facilities for patients.
The infrastructure allows 24-hour patient monitoring (using an atomic clock system, which guarantees the highest temporal accuracy in terms of procedures performed and observation of any patient events), as well as providing the necessary systems in terms of security (e.g., call buttons in all patient rooms – at bedsides, in bathrooms and in every room of the ward). Patient rooms are prepared for both outpatient visits and hospitalization by meeting hospital-wide requirements, and all patient rooms equipped with separate bathrooms. All rooms in the Site are air-conditioned providing comfort to patients, staff and guaranteeing the high quality of the unit.
The Early Phase Site is located within the Central Teaching Hospital of the Medical University of Lodz with a direct connection to the Clinical Cardiology Intensive Care Unit, allowing us to benefit from the Hospital’s extensive infrastructure.
