30 Million PLN for the Development of Digital Medicine – The MULDiMediC Project

On October 10th, a presentation of the MULDiMediC project – the Regional Center for Digital Medicine in Łódź, took place at our Clinical Research Support Center. The press briefing accompanying the event was attended by: Dr. hab. med. Radosław Sierpiński – President of the Medical Research Agency, Jarosław Brózda – Deputy Voivode of Łódź, Rector, Prof. Radzisław Kordek, and Paweł Zawieja – Deputy Chancellor for Organization and Development, project manager.

The “MULDiMediC” project, in which the Medical University of Łódź is the leader, received a recommendation for funding as part of the competition by the Medical Research Agency for the establishment and development of Regional Centers for Digital Medicine (RCMC).

The initiative aims to create the infrastructure, personnel, and systemic support necessary for the eventual establishment of a Network of Regional Centers for Digital Medicine. This will lead to an increase in the number of scientific research, with a particular emphasis on clinical research, and create favorable conditions for the development of innovative pharmaceutical, IT, and other technologies applicable to healthcare.

The consortium’s proposal, led by UMED Łódź, received 285 points and nearly 30 million PLN in funding, ranking 5th among the 19 recommended projects for funding.

The Medical University of Łódź will implement the “MULDiMediC” project in a consortium with:

  1. Independent Public Healthcare Facility of the University Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after Norbert Barlicki of the Medical University of Łódź.
  2. Independent Public Healthcare Facility of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Medical University of Łódź.
  3. Independent Public Healthcare Facility of the University Clinical Hospital named after the Military Medical Academy of the Medical University of Łódź – Central Hospital for Veterans.
  4. University of Łódź.
  5. AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.
