The Clinical Research Support Centre (CWBK) operates as a unit of the Medical University of Łódź—one of the largest medical universities in Poland with extensive clinical facilities. Being part of the University’s structure provides access to its full scientific and research potential.

The Medical University of Łódź is one of Poland’s leading scientific research centres. Each academic year, it conducts over 100 different scientific projects and numerous research agreements. The University is a leader in research fields such as immunology, molecular biology, genetics, oncology, and endocrinology. One of its key strategic areas of scientific development is lifestyle diseases: cancers, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, as well as innovations for healthy living and active ageing.

Furthermore, the University conducts research in various fields related to clinical medicine and medical biotechnology. The primary focus of commercialization includes solutions for developing new drugs, active substances, supportive therapies for chronic diseases, and recommendations for the use of telemetric solutions in patient preventive care and therapy.

The University’s greatest asset is its people – researchers and staff whose dedication and commitment fulfil its scientific and research mission. The University’s Scientific Council currently brings together nearly 30 distinguished scientists who set the direction for research and development activities. Another major strength is the potential of young researchers at the University, whose initiatives are supported internally, among other ways, through access to the most effective research teams, funding for publications, grants, and the protection and promotion of intellectual property. Among these emerging scientific leaders are recipients of Diamond Grants, the “Student Nobel” award, Innovation Brokers, and winners of numerous prestigious competitions. The University’s strong scientific standing is also upheld by its students, who demonstrate high levels of research activity within the Student Scientific Society.
